Amazon Lex Pricing Calculator

Estimate Amazon Lex V2 request-and-response, streaming conversation, DTMF, generative-response, and Automated Chatbot Designer costs by Region.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Amazon Lex count requests?

Each speech or text user input is one request in request-and-response mode, including every turn.

How are Lex streaming speech intervals calculated?

AWS bills each 15 seconds of open listening time, including speech and silence, and rounds input up to the nearest interval.

Does the Amazon Lex bot locale affect price?

No. Every published bot locale currently has the same runtime rate matrix within an AWS Region, so locale is not a calculator input. CloudBurn checks that invariant whenever it regenerates the pricing data.

How is Automated Chatbot Designer priced?

Enter the actual minutes AWS spends analyzing English (US) transcripts. Transcript lines are not a billing unit, so the calculator doesn't infer training time from file length.

Does Lex speech output require a separate Polly charge?

The modeled Lex speech-output SKUs include the response modality. Independently invoked Polly usage remains outside this calculator.

Are generative AI and Amazon Bedrock costs included?

Paid Lex generative-response dimensions are included where published. Underlying Bedrock model inference, Agents, Knowledge Bases, and other workload-specific dependencies are excluded. Zero-priced Lex AI dimensions are never treated as a complete free interaction.

CloudBurn

Catch AWS cost mistakes before they ship.

Use the calculator for quick estimates, then use CloudBurn when you need a deterministic cost review workflow. Run scan against Terraform and CloudFormation before deploy, then run discover against live AWS to find the waste that is already burning.

Read the docs to learn how it works.
