AWS DMS Pricing Calculator - On-Demand & Serverless Migration Costs

AWS DMS pricing calculator for on-demand replication instances and AWS DMS Serverless. Estimate migration costs with Single-AZ vs Multi-AZ pricing, extra storage, homogeneous migrations, and T3 CPU credits.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Single-AZ vs Multi-AZ change AWS DMS pricing?
Multi-AZ charges a higher hourly replication rate and uses a separate GP2 storage price. It is designed for higher availability, while Single-AZ is usually cheaper for dev, test, and simpler migration runs.
Does AWS DMS include storage with on-demand replication instances?
Yes. T2 and T3 replication instances include 50 GB of GP2 storage, while compute-optimized and memory-optimized replication instances include 100 GB. This calculator subtracts that allowance automatically and only bills extra storage above the included amount.
Why does homogeneous migration not charge DMS storage in this calculator?
AWS states that homogeneous data migrations do not require replication instances, so you do not pay DMS storage charges for that workflow. The calculator therefore uses only the hourly homogeneous migration rate.

CloudBurn

Catch AWS cost mistakes before they ship.

Use the calculator for quick estimates, then use CloudBurn when you need a deterministic cost review workflow. Run scan against Terraform and CloudFormation before deploy, then run discover against live AWS to find the waste that is already burning.
