When is a Greengrass core device billed as active?
A core is active for the entire billing month once it authenticates with AWS. The fee is not prorated.
Are offline cores and locally connected client devices charged?
A core that never authenticates during the month is inactive. Client devices connected locally to a billed core do not incur another Greengrass core charge.
Does Greengrass create AWS IoT Core charges?
It can. The optional add-on estimates selected IoT Core connection, messaging, and Device Shadow meters.
How are gateway fleets billed?
A gateway fleet with 100 active cores and 10,000 local client devices is billed for 100 Greengrass cores. The local client devices do not create separate core-device charges.
What does this estimate exclude?
It excludes custom fleet pricing, annual commitments, hardware, local compute, networking, support, taxes, credits, private discounts, and charges from other AWS services beyond the optional IoT Core meters.
