Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus Pricing Calculator

Estimate Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus costs from clusters, scrape targets, time series, native histograms, metric storage, PromQL queries, rules, and AWS managed collectors in every supported AWS Region.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does AWS meter Prometheus native histograms?

Each native histogram observation counts as one sample, plus one quarter of a sample for every populated bucket. Empty buckets add no surcharge, and the metered observations join regular samples in the same ingestion tier pool.

What are Query Samples Processed?

AWS bills the samples evaluated by PromQL queries, including dashboard, API, alerting-rule, and recording-rule work. Range queries depend on the time series selected, query range, and resolution step.

Is the metric storage result exact?

No. The workload-derived result is an editable planning estimate based on bytes per stored sample and label metadata assumptions for one month of new ingestion. It does not model a workspace retention period, so longer-retention workspaces will store more than this estimate shows. Use the direct GB-month input when observed storage is available.

CloudBurn

Catch AWS cost mistakes before they ship.

Use the calculator for quick estimates, then use CloudBurn when you need a deterministic cost review workflow. Run scan against Terraform and CloudFormation before deploy, then run discover against live AWS to find the waste that is already burning.
